How To Install liblas-c3 on Ubuntu 18.04

What is liblas-c3
liblas-c3 is:
libLAS is a C/C++ library for reading and writing ASPRS LAS versions 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 data. The LAS format is a sequential binary format used to store data from sensors and as intermediate processing storage by some LiDAR-related applications. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an optical remote sensing technology that measures properties of scattered light to find range and/or other information of a distant target. The prevalent method to determine distance to an object or surface is to use laser pulses.
This package contains the C shared library used by applications.
There are three methods to install liblas-c3 on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install liblas-c3 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install liblas-c3 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install liblas-c3

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install liblas-c3 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install liblas-c3
Install liblas-c3 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install liblas-c3 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install liblas-c3
How To Uninstall liblas-c3 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the liblas-c3 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove liblas-c3
Uninstall liblas-c3 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall liblas-c3 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove liblas-c3
Remove liblas-c3 Configurations and Data
To remove liblas-c3 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge liblas-c3
Remove liblas-c3 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove liblas-c3 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge liblas-c3
