How To Install libkarma-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libkarma-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libkarma-dev
libkarma-dev is:
libkarma is a C language library that provides (read/write) access to the Rio Karma music player using either the usb (with OMFS) or network (PEARL) interface.
libkarma allows developers to do the following:
- login
- read, write and delete music or data files
- read and write file information
- write music or taxi files with one function, including setting all metadata
This package contains the development files needed to compile programs using the facilities provided by libkarma.
There are three methods to install libkarma-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libkarma-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libkarma-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libkarma-devInstall libkarma-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libkarma-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libkarma-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libkarma-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libkarma-devRemove libkarma-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libkarma-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
