How To Install libjs-mgrs on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libjs-mgrs on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is libjs-mgrs
libjs-mgrs is:
mgrs is a utility for converting between WGS84 lat/lng and MGRS coordinates, spunoff from proj4js.
It has 3 methods:
- forward, takes an array of [lon,lat] and optional accuracy and returns an mgrs string
- inverse, takes an mgrs string and returns a bbox
- toPoint, takes an mgrs string, returns an array of ‘[lon,lat]’
This package contains the mgrs.js javascript file.
There are three methods to install libjs-mgrs on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libjs-mgrs Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libjs-mgrs using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libjs-mgrs
Install libjs-mgrs Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libjs-mgrs using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libjs-mgrs
Install libjs-mgrs Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libjs-mgrs using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libjs-mgrs
How To Uninstall libjs-mgrs on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libjs-mgrs package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libjs-mgrs
Uninstall libjs-mgrs And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libjs-mgrs and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libjs-mgrs
Remove libjs-mgrs Configurations and Data
To remove libjs-mgrs configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libjs-mgrs
Remove libjs-mgrs configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libjs-mgrs configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libjs-mgrs
