How To Install libhtp-dev on Kali Linux

What is libhtp-dev

The HTP Library is an HTTP normalizer and parser. This integrates and provides very advanced processing of HTTP streams for Suricata. The HTP library is required by the engine, but may also be used independently in a range of applications and tools.
This package provides the development files for libhtp.
There are three methods to install libhtp-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libhtp-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libhtp-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libhtp-devInstall libhtp-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libhtp-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libhtp-devInstall libhtp-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libhtp-dev package we can use the following command:
