How To Install libdc1394-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libdc1394-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libdc1394-dev
libdc1394-dev is:
libdc1394 is a library that is intended to provide a high level programming interface for application developers who wish to control IEEE 1394 based cameras that conform to the 1394-based Digital Camera Specification (found at http://www.1394ta.org/).
This version of libdc1394 supports both the old and new (juju) FireWire stack. It automatically detects which one to use at runtime.
This package contains development files.
There are three methods to install libdc1394-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libdc1394-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libdc1394-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libdc1394-devInstall libdc1394-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libdc1394-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude -y install libdc1394-devHow To Uninstall libdc1394-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libdc1394-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libdc1394-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libdc1394-devRemove libdc1394-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libdc1394-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libdc1394-devRemove libdc1394-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libdc1394-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libdc1394-devDependencies
