How To Install libcr-dbg on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libcr-dbg
on Debian 9.
What is libcr-dbg
libcr-dbg is:
BLCR (Berkeley Lab Checkpoint/Restart) allows programs running on Linux to be “checkpointed” (written entirely to a file), and then later “restarted”.
BLCR can checkpoint both single- and multithreaded (pthreads) programs linked with the NPTL implementation of pthreads. BLCR is also able to save and restore groups of related processes together with the pipes that connect them.
This package contains the debug symbols for the libcr library.
There are three methods to install libcr-dbg
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcr-dbg Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcr-dbg
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcr-dbg
Install libcr-dbg Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libcr-dbg
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcr-dbg
Install libcr-dbg Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcr-dbg
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcr-dbg
How To Uninstall libcr-dbg on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libcr-dbg
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcr-dbg
Uninstall libcr-dbg And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcr-dbg
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcr-dbg
Remove libcr-dbg Configurations and Data
To remove libcr-dbg
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcr-dbg
Remove libcr-dbg configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libcr-dbg
