How To Install libboost-doc on Debian 9

The Boost web site provides free, peer-reviewed, portable C++ source libraries. The emphasis is on libraries which work well with the C++ Standard Library. One goal is to establish “existing practice” and provide reference implementations so that the Boost libraries are suitable for eventual standardization. Some of the libraries have already been proposed for inclusion in the C++ Standards Committee’s upcoming C++ Standard Library Technical Report.
This is documentation for the boost libraries in HTML format. Some pages point to header files provided in the corresponding -dev package, so it is suggested to install the latter as well.
This package is a dependency package, which depends on Debian’s default Boost version (currently 1.62).
There are three methods to install libboost-doc on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libboost-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libboost-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libboost-doc

How To Uninstall libboost-doc on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libboost-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libboost-doc

To uninstall libboost-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libboost-doc
Remove libboost-doc Configurations and Data
To remove libboost-doc configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libboost-doc
