How To Install libasm3-java on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libasm3-java on Debian 9.
What is libasm3-java
libasm3-java is:
It can be used to dynamically generate stub classes or other proxy classes, directly in binary form, or to dynamically modify classes at load time, i.e., just before they are loaded into the Java Virtual Machine.
ASM offers similar functionalities as BCEL or SERP, but is much smaller (25KB instead of 350KB for BCEL and 150KB for SERP) and faster than these tools (the overhead of a load time class transformation is on the order of 60% with ASM, 700% or more with BCEL, and 1100% or more with SERP). ASM was designed to be used in a dynamic and static way and was therefore designed and implemented to be as small and as fast as possible.
There are three methods to install libasm3-java on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libasm3-java using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libasm3-java
How To Uninstall libasm3-java on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libasm3-java package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libasm3-java
Uninstall libasm3-java And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libasm3-java and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libasm3-java
Remove libasm3-java Configurations and Data
To remove libasm3-java configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libasm3-java
