How To Install keepassxc on Rocky Linux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install keepassxc on Rocky Linux 8.
What is keepassxc
KeePassXC is a community fork of KeePassX KeePassXC is an application for people with extremely high demands on secure personal data management. KeePassXC saves many different information e.g. user names, passwords, urls, attachemts and comments in one single database. For a better management user-defined titles and icons can be specified for each single entry. Furthermore the entries are sorted in groups, which are customizable as well. The integrated search function allows to search in a single group or the complete database. KeePassXC offers a little utility for secure password generation. The password generator is very customizable, fast and easy to use. Especially someone who generates passwords frequently will appreciate this feature. The complete database is always encrypted either with AES (alias Rijndael) or Twofish encryption algorithm using a 256 bit key. Therefore the saved information can be considered as quite safe.
We can use yum or dnf to install keepassxc on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install keepassxc.
Install keepassxc on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install keepassxc using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install keepassxc
Install keepassxc on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install keepassxc using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install keepassxc
How To Uninstall keepassxc on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the keepassxc package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove keepassxc
