How To Install ifpgui on Ubuntu 18.04

This project is an open-source graphical user interface (GUI) for iRiver’s iFP flash audio players. It uses libifp to access the player over the management interface.

This program does not work with the H, T or other recent models. These models are known to work: iFP-1xx,3xx,5xx,7xx,8xx,9xx and N10. You can only use this software if your player has the “Management” version of iRiver’s firmware installed.

There are three methods to install ifpgui on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ifpgui Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ifpgui using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ifpgui

Install ifpgui Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ifpgui using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ifpgui

Install ifpgui Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ifpgui using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ifpgui

How To Uninstall ifpgui on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the ifpgui package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ifpgui

Uninstall ifpgui And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ifpgui and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ifpgui

Remove ifpgui Configurations and Data

To remove ifpgui configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ifpgui

Remove ifpgui configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove ifpgui configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ifpgui
