How To Install ibus-wayland on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install ibus-wayland on Kali Linux.
What is ibus-wayland
ibus-wayland is:
IBus is an Intelligent Input Bus. It is a new input framework for the Linux OS. It provides full featured and user friendly input method user interface. It also may help developers to develop input method easily.
This package contains the Wayland input method support.
This package is only needed if you are using a Wayland compositor which supports the “input-method” protocol, and if you want to input text via this protocol. The only known Wayland compositor supporting this protocol is Weston, the reference implementation.
There are three methods to install ibus-wayland on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ibus-wayland Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ibus-wayland using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ibus-waylandInstall ibus-wayland Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ibus-wayland using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ibus-waylandInstall ibus-wayland Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ibus-wayland using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ibus-waylandHow To Uninstall ibus-wayland on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ibus-wayland package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ibus-waylandUninstall ibus-wayland And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ibus-wayland and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ibus-waylandRemove ibus-wayland Configurations and Data
To remove ibus-wayland configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ibus-waylandRemove ibus-wayland configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ibus-wayland configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
