How To Install glusterfs-client on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install glusterfs-client on Kali Linux.
What is glusterfs-client
glusterfs-client is:
GlusterFS is a clustered file-system capable of scaling to several peta-bytes. It aggregates various storage bricks over Infiniband RDMA or TCP/IP interconnect into one large parallel network file system. GlusterFS is one of the most sophisticated file system in terms of features and extensibility. It borrows a powerful concept called Translators from GNU Hurd kernel. Much of the code in GlusterFS is in userspace and easily manageable.
This package provides the FUSE based GlusterFS tool.
There are three methods to install glusterfs-client on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install glusterfs-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install glusterfs-client using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install glusterfs-clientInstall glusterfs-client Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install glusterfs-client using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install glusterfs-clientInstall glusterfs-client Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install glusterfs-client using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install glusterfs-clientHow To Uninstall glusterfs-client on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the glusterfs-client package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove glusterfs-clientUninstall glusterfs-client And Its Dependencies
To uninstall glusterfs-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove glusterfs-clientRemove glusterfs-client Configurations and Data
To remove glusterfs-client configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge glusterfs-clientRemove glusterfs-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove glusterfs-client configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge glusterfs-clientDependencies
