How To Install git-debpush on Ubuntu 20.04

on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is git-debpush
git-debpush is:
git-debpush is a script to create and push a specially formatted signed git tag. The metadata in the tag indicates that the tagged commit should be pushed (or “uploaded”) to a Debian-style archive.
Tags generated by this script can be read by an intermediary service, which performs any conversion that’s needed (such as producing and signing a .dsc and .changes), and then uploads the result to the Debian-style archive on your behalf.
There are three methods to install git-debpush
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install git-debpush Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install git-debpush
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install git-debpush
Install git-debpush Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install git-debpush
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install git-debpush
Install git-debpush Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install git-debpush
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install git-debpush
How To Uninstall git-debpush on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the git-debpush
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove git-debpush
Uninstall git-debpush And Its Dependencies
To uninstall git-debpush
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove git-debpush
Remove git-debpush Configurations and Data
To remove git-debpush
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge git-debpush
Remove git-debpush configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
