How To Install feed2exec on Ubuntu 18.04

on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is feed2exec
feed2exec is:
feed2exec is a simple program that runs custom actions on new RSS feed items (or whatever feedparser can read). It currently has support for writing into mailboxes (Maildir or mbox folders) or executing commands, but more actions can be easily implemented through plugins. Email are saved as multipart plain/HTML and can be sent to arbitrary folders.
There are three methods to install feed2exec
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install feed2exec Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install feed2exec
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install feed2exec
Install feed2exec Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install feed2exec
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install feed2exec
Install feed2exec Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install feed2exec
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install feed2exec
How To Uninstall feed2exec on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the feed2exec
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove feed2exec
Uninstall feed2exec And Its Dependencies
To uninstall feed2exec
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove feed2exec
Remove feed2exec Configurations and Data
To remove feed2exec
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge feed2exec
Remove feed2exec configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove feed2exec
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge feed2exec
