How To Install etherape-data on Ubuntu 20.04

on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is etherape-data
etherape-data is:
EtherApe is a graphical network monitor modeled after etherman. it displays network activity graphically, showing active hosts as circles of varying size, and traffic among them as lines of varying width.
It features link layer, ip and TCP modes, color-color coded protocols display, Ethernet, FDDI, Token Ring, ISDN, PPP and SLIP devices. It can filter traffic to be shown, and can read traffic from a file as well as live from the network.
This package contains the data files for etherape.
There are three methods to install etherape-data
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install etherape-data Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install etherape-data
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install etherape-data

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install etherape-data
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install etherape-data
Install etherape-data Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install etherape-data
using aptitude

sudo apt-get remove etherape-data

sudo apt-get -y autoremove etherape-data
Remove etherape-data Configurations and Data
To remove etherape-data
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge etherape-data
Remove etherape-data configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove etherape-data
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge etherape-data
