How To Install ensymble on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install ensymble
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is ensymble
ensymble is:
This is the Ensymble developer utilities for Symbian OS(TM), a collection of Python modules and command line programs for Symbian OS software development.
Current focus of Ensymble development is to provide useful tools for making “Python for S60” (also called PyS60) programs. Supported functions include generation of SIS (installation) packages, merging several SIS packages into one, (re-)signing existing SIS packages and modifying extension DLL headers. Support for other Symbian OS software development tasks will follow.
There are three methods to install ensymble
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ensymble Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ensymble
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ensymble
Install ensymble Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ensymble
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ensymble
Install ensymble Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ensymble
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ensymble
How To Uninstall ensymble on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the ensymble
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ensymble
Uninstall ensymble And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ensymble
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ensymble
Remove ensymble Configurations and Data
To remove ensymble
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ensymble
Remove ensymble configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ensymble
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ensymble
