What is dogtag-pki
dogtag-pki is:
The Dogtag Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Suite is comprised of the following five subsystems and a client (for use by a Token Management System):
- Certificate Authority (CA)
- Data Recovery Manager (DRM)
- Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) Manager
- Token Key Service (TKS)
- Token Processing System (TPS)
- Enterprise Security Client (ESC)
Additionally, it provides a console GUI application used for server and user/group administration of CA, DRM, OCSP, and TKS, javadocs on portions of the Dogtag API, as well as various command-line tools used to assist with a PKI deployment.
This metapackage installs every PKI subsystem.
There are three methods to install dogtag-pki
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dogtag-pki Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install dogtag-pki
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install dogtag-pki
Install dogtag-pki Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install dogtag-pki
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install dogtag-pki
Install dogtag-pki Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install dogtag-pki
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install dogtag-pki
How To Uninstall dogtag-pki on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the dogtag-pki
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove dogtag-pki
Uninstall dogtag-pki And Its Dependencies
To uninstall dogtag-pki
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dogtag-pki
Remove dogtag-pki Configurations and Data
To remove dogtag-pki
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dogtag-pki
Remove dogtag-pki configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove dogtag-pki
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge dogtag-pki
