How To Install cinder-common on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install cinder-common on Debian 12.
What is cinder-common
cinder-common is:
Cinder is a block Storage-as-a-Service system for the OpenStack cloud computing suite. It re-implements the features of Nova-volume, which it directly replaces.
Cinder uses LVM partitions of your volume servers in order to provide iSCSI permanent block storage devices for your virtual machines running on Nova. It also has back-end drivers for many hardware and software storage solutions like Ceph, NFS, Net-APP, etc.
This package contains common files and configuration that are needed by all the daemon packages of Cinder.
There are three methods to install cinder-common on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cinder-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cinder-common using apt-get by running the following command:

After updating apt database, We can install cinder-common using apt by running the following command:

Install cinder-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cinder-common using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cinder-common
How To Uninstall cinder-common on Debian 12
To uninstall only the cinder-common package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cinder-common
Uninstall cinder-common And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cinder-common and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cinder-common
Remove cinder-common Configurations and Data
To remove cinder-common configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cinder-common
