What is cc65-utils

This package contains the additional utilities for cc65. They are not needed for compiling applications with cc65, but might be handy for some additional tasks. Since these utility programs have some heavier dependencies, and also can be used without the need of installing cc65, they have been split into this package.

We can use yum or dnf to install cc65-utils on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cc65-utils.

Install cc65-utils on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install cc65-utils using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install cc65-utils

Install cc65-utils on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install cc65-utils using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install cc65-utils

To uninstall only the cc65-utils package we can use the following command:
