In this tutorial we learn how to install bouncycastle-pkix on Rocky Linux 8.

What is bouncycastle-pkix

The Bouncy Castle Java APIs for CMS, PKCS, EAC, TSP, CMP, CRMF, OCSP, and certificate generation. This jar contains APIs for JDK 1.5 to JDK 1.8. The APIs can be used in conjunction with a JCE/JCA provider such as the one provided with the Bouncy Castle Cryptography APIs.

We can use yum or dnf to install bouncycastle-pkix on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bouncycastle-pkix.

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install bouncycastle-pkix using dnf by running the following command:

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall bouncycastle-pkix on Rocky Linux 8

To uninstall only the bouncycastle-pkix package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove bouncycastle-pkix
