What is Pound

The Pound program is a reverse proxy, load balancer and HTTPS front-end for Web server(s). Pound was developed to enable distributing the load among several Web-servers and to allow for a convenient SSL wrapper for those Web servers that do not offer it natively. Pound is distributed under the GPL - no warranty, it’s free to use, copy and give away

We can use yum or dnf to install Pound on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install Pound.

Install Pound on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install Pound using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install Pound

Install Pound on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install Pound using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install Pound

How To Uninstall Pound on Rocky Linux 8

To uninstall only the Pound package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove Pound
