What is `vdr-femon`

DVB frontend status monitor is a plugin that displays some signal information parameters of the current tuned channel on VDR’s OSD. You can zap through all your channels and the plugin should be monitoring always the right frontend. The transponder and stream information are also available in advanced display modes.

We can use yum or dnf to install vdr-femon on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install vdr-femon.

Install vdr-femon on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install vdr-femon using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install vdr-femon

Install vdr-femon on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install vdr-femon using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install vdr-femon

How To Uninstall vdr-femon on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the vdr-femon package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove vdr-femon
