How To Install texlive-ofs on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-ofs on Fedora 36.
What is texlive-ofs
OFS (Olsak’s Font System) is a set of Plain TeX and LaTeX macros for managing large font collections; it has been used by Czech/Slovak users for many years. Main features include Mapping from long names of fonts to the metric file name. The user can specify only exact long names in documents. Support for many font encodings. Printing of catalogues of fonts and test samples of font families; the interactive macro \showfonts shows all font families you have installed via OFS. The user interface is the same for Plain TeX and for LaTeX, but the implementation differs the Plain variant implements its own font management (which may even be better than NFSS) Support for math fonts including TX fonts.
We can use yum or dnf to install texlive-ofs on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-ofs.
Install texlive-ofs on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-ofs using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-ofs
Install texlive-ofs on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-ofs using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install texlive-ofs
How To Uninstall texlive-ofs on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the texlive-ofs package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-ofs
