What is `purple-facebook`

Purple Facebook implements the Facebook Messenger protocol for pidgin, finch, and libpurple. While the primary implementation is for purple3, this plugin is back-ported for purple2. This project is not affiliated with Facebook, Inc.

We can use yum or dnf to install purple-facebook on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install purple-facebook.

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
