What is nmap-ncat

Ncat is a feature packed networking utility which will read and write data across a network from the command line. It uses both TCP and UDP for communication and is designed to be a reliable back-end tool to instantly provide network connectivity to other applications and users. Ncat will not only work with IPv4 and IPv6 but provides the user with a virtually limitless number of potential uses.

We can use yum or dnf to install nmap-ncat on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install nmap-ncat.

Install nmap-ncat on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install nmap-ncat using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install nmap-ncat

Install nmap-ncat on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install nmap-ncat using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install nmap-ncat

How To Uninstall nmap-ncat on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the nmap-ncat package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove nmap-ncat
