What is Mayavi

The Mayavi project includes two related packages for 3-dimensional visualization * Mayavi2 * TVTK popular open-source visualization library. These operate at different levels of abstraction. TVTK manipulates visualization objects, while Mayavi2 lets you operate on your data, and then see the results. Most users either use the Mayavi user interface or program to its scripting interface; you probably don’t need to interact with TVTK unless you want to create a new Mayavi module.

We can use yum or dnf to install Mayavi on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install Mayavi.

Install Mayavi on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install Mayavi using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install Mayavi

Install Mayavi on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install Mayavi using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install Mayavi

How To Uninstall Mayavi on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the Mayavi package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove Mayavi
