What is libva-v4l2-request

This VA-API backend is designed to work with the Linux Video4Linux2 Request API that is used by a number of video codecs drivers, including the Video Engine found in most Allwinner SoCs.

We can use yum or dnf to install libva-v4l2-request on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libva-v4l2-request.

Install libva-v4l2-request on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install libva-v4l2-request using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install libva-v4l2-request
