How To Install keyring-ima-signer on Fedora 36

In this tutorial we learn how to install keyring-ima-signer
on Fedora 36.
What is keyring-ima-signer
The IMA (Integrity Measurement Architecture) is a key component of the Linux integrity subsystem designed to ensure integrity, authenticity, and confidentiality of systems including hardware root of trusts (TPM). This tool allows signing of files in userspace, inclusding options of including the signature in xattr or a .sig file, using signing keys stored in the kernel keyring to ensure they’re not recoverable.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install keyring-ima-signer
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install keyring-ima-signer.
Install keyring-ima-signer on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install keyring-ima-signer
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install keyring-ima-signer
Install keyring-ima-signer on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install keyring-ima-signer
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install keyring-ima-signer
How To Uninstall keyring-ima-signer on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the keyring-ima-signer
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove keyring-ima-signer
