How To Install graphite2 on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install graphite2
on Fedora 36.
What is graphite2
Graphite2 is a project within SIL’s Non-Roman Script Initiative and Language Software Development groups to provide rendering capabilities for complex non-Roman writing systems. Graphite can be used to create “smart fonts” capable of displaying writing systems with various complex behaviors. With respect to the Text Encoding Model, Graphite handles the “Rendering” aspect of writing system implementation.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install graphite2
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install graphite2.
Install graphite2 on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install graphite2
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install graphite2
Install graphite2 on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install graphite2
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install graphite2
How To Uninstall graphite2 on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the graphite2
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove graphite2
