What is `gnome-games`

Games is a GNOME 3 application to browse your video games library and to easily pick and play a game from it. It aims to do for games what Music already does for your music library. You want to install Games if you just want a very simple and comfortable way to play your games and you don’t need advanced features such as speedrunning tools or video game development tools.

We can use yum or dnf to install gnome-games on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnome-games.

Install gnome-games on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install gnome-games using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install gnome-games

Install gnome-games on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install gnome-games using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install gnome-games

How To Uninstall gnome-games on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the gnome-games package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove gnome-games
