What is globus-gfork

The Grid Community Toolkit (GCT) is an open source software toolkit used for building grid systems and applications. It is a fork of the Globus Toolkit originally created by the Globus Alliance. It is supported by the Grid Community Forum (GridCF) that provides community-based support for core software packages in grid computing. The globus-gfork package contains GFork Library

We can use yum or dnf to install globus-gfork on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install globus-gfork.

Install globus-gfork on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install globus-gfork using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install globus-gfork

Install globus-gfork on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install globus-gfork using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install globus-gfork

How To Uninstall globus-gfork on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the globus-gfork package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove globus-gfork
