How To Install carbon-c-relay on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install carbon-c-relay
on Fedora 36.
What is carbon-c-relay
Carbon-like Graphite line mode relay. This project aims to be a replacement of the original Carbon relay. The main reason to build a replacement is performance and configurability. Carbon is single threaded, and sending metrics to multiple consistent-hash clusters requires chaining of relays. This project provides a multithreaded relay which can address multiple targets and clusters for each and every metric based on pattern matches.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install carbon-c-relay
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install carbon-c-relay.
Install carbon-c-relay on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install carbon-c-relay
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install carbon-c-relay
Install carbon-c-relay on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install carbon-c-relay
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install carbon-c-relay
How To Uninstall carbon-c-relay on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the carbon-c-relay
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove carbon-c-relay
