How To Install tlp-rdw on CentOS 8

tlp-rdw is Radio Device Wizard for TLP

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install tlp-rdw on CentOS 8.

What is tlp-rdw

Radio device wizard is an add-on to TLP. It provides event based switching of - Bluetooth, WiFi, WWAN radio devices - upon network connect/disconnect - and dock/undock

We can use yum or dnf to install tlp-rdw on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tlp-rdw.

Install tlp-rdw on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install tlp-rdw using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install tlp-rdw

Install tlp-rdw on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall tlp-rdw on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the tlp-rdw package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove tlp-rdw
