In this tutorial we learn how to install setools-console on CentOS 8.

What is setools-console

SETools is a collection of graphical tools, command-line tools, and libraries designed to facilitate SELinux policy analysis. This package includes the following console tools sediff Compare two policies to find differences. seinfo List policy components. sesearch Search rules (allow, type_transition, etc.)

We can use yum or dnf to install setools-console on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install setools-console.

Install setools-console on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install setools-console using dnf by running the following command:

How To Uninstall setools-console on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the setools-console package we can use the following command:
