How To Install dpkg-devel on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dpkg-devel on CentOS 8.
What is dpkg-devel
This package provides the header files and static library necessary to develop software using dpkg, the same library used internally by dpkg. Note though, that the API is to be considered volatile, and might change at any time, use at your own risk.
We can use yum or dnf to install dpkg-devel on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dpkg-devel.
Install dpkg-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install dpkg-devel using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install dpkg-devel
