How To Install BackupPC-XS on CentOS 8

BackupPC-XS is Implementation of various BackupPC functions in a perl-callable module

In this tutorial we learn how to install BackupPC-XS on CentOS 8.

What is BackupPC-XS

BackupPC module. This module is required for BackupPC V4+.

We can use yum or dnf to install BackupPC-XS on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install BackupPC-XS.

Install BackupPC-XS on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install BackupPC-XS using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install BackupPC-XS

After updating yum database, We can install BackupPC-XS using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install BackupPC-XS

How To Uninstall BackupPC-XS on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the BackupPC-XS package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove BackupPC-XS
